 Myths about Participating in Research

Researchers will use me as a guinea pig!
You need to agree to all research procedures. You have the right to refuse any part!

Researchers won't inform me of their findings!
After you have completed the study, a letter is sent out to you to let you know the results.

My information will be made public!
We do not publish or sell your personal information. Federal health care laws require us to keep your information private and confidential.

They really don't need me!
Already, research has shown that some cultures and ethnicities are at a higher risk for Alzheimer's disease than others. It is important that as many people as possible participate in research in order to find a cure that will work for everyone. Every person is important!
